Veterinary Surgeons

Julia qualified from Edinburgh University in 1984 and has worked full time in small animal practice since then. She has worked at various London clinics including 3 years at Lordship Lane, known then as Lomax and Partners, before running her own successful surgery at Herne Hill. During this time she had four children.

Julia has now managed Lordship Lane veterinary surgery for 8 years since Mr Lomax retired. She lives with her, now teenage, children, 2 dogs and 2 cats. She has been lucky with the support of her husband Jamie and her nanny Susan who has been with the family for 23 years. Julia has always loved her work achieving her childhood ambition of being a vet and looking after her client’s pets. After more than 25 years she still finds her work extremely rewarding.

Rachel qualified from Liverpool University in 2001 and spent 4 years working in mixed practice dealing with all varieties of animals from chickens to water buffalo, horses and camels. She has been working in and around London in small animal practice for 8 years. Rachel enjoys all aspects of small animal practice and in 2010 gained a General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Practice. In her spare time Rachel enjoys training at the gym, swimming, baking and eating out.

Mark joined us as a locum originally but, following the departure of another vet,  agreed to increase his hours to 3 days per week much to our delight. Mark qualified in 1989 from Liverpool University and his particular interest is dermatology.

The newest member of our team, Magda joined our veterinary surgeons at the end of March and we hope many of you have already been impressed with her calm, professional and efficient approach in the consulting room. She’s just great behind the scenes as well with several years of small animal experience making her a skilled surgeon. We are delighted she joined us and look forward to introducing more of our clients to her.
